Executive Management Team

Dan Davies
Interim CEO and Chief Technology Officer

Dan joined Maintel in 2013 as part of the acquisition of Proximity Communications, where he was the Product and Solutions Director and board member. With over 20 years experience in the communications sector and an engineering and design consultancy background, he is driven by making sure our technology has a meaningful impact on our customers’ organisations, with business focussed outcomes that help them to achieve success.

Dan leads all R&D activity within Maintel including our Product Management, R&D engineering and software development functions, as well as heading up our Information Systems and Security teams.

Dan was appointed Interim CEO in February 2024.

Gillian Bailey
Chief Operating Officer

Gillian joined the organisation in 2006 & has held a number of Senior operational roles,  currently responsible for Project Management, Provisioning & Operational Services.  

Gillian is passionate about driving a Customer first approach in Operations and ensuring that the services delivered look beyond the ever changing technology landscape to achieve key business outcomes for our customers.  The Operations function is one of the largest teams in Maintel and Gillian places a huge emphasis on our people through skills development, a wellbeing focus & various talent management initiatives.

Carol Thompson
Executive Chairman

Carol was appointed Executive Chairman of Maintel in November 2022. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has over 20 years’ experience in Senior Finance roles, gained in both private and public companies. Between 2011 and 2015 she held the position of Chief Financial Officer at SSP plc, the global software company. Prior to SSP plc, she was Chief Financial Officer at Electricity North West, and has also served as Finance Director at The Tote, and at Stanley Leisure plc, acquiring significant knowledge of company strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and refinancing.

Gabriel Pirona
Chief Financial Officer

Gabriel Pirona trained at PwC and has over 25 years of financial experience, gained in both industry and public practice. Prior to joining Maintel, he held the position of Group Chief Financial Officer at Agilisys, the fast-growing cloud and digital transformation specialists. Prior to Agilisys, he was Group Chief Financial Officer at Selecta, and has also served as Group Chief Financial Officer at Photo-Me International plc, and as Regional Chief Financial Officer at Recall, gaining extensive and relevant strategic financial and business transformation experience.

Yogesh Patel
Chief Growth Officer

Yogesh joined the organisation in 2019 and has held a number of Senior commercial roles. He is responsible for leading the development and execution of Maintel’s overall growth strategy.

Yogesh has over 25 years of experience in high growth communications companies in a variety of roles across sales, commercial and operations. He is passionate about developing high performing teams that deliver frictionless customer outcomes.

Rebecca Hughes
Chief People Officer

Rebecca joined Maintel in 2019, and is an experienced, professional HR leader with over 25 years HR experience across a variety of sectors including financial services; utilities; technology; manufacturing; and retail.

Rebecca is passionate about people (the clue’s in the title) and is a strong believer in ‘bringing your whole self to work’, fostering a culture of total inclusivity,  and harnessing diversity of thought, approach, background and experience to attract and leverage the very best talent.
