Case Study

South Lanarkshire Council

South Lanarkshire is one of 32 unitary council areas of Scotland, covering the southern part of the former county of Lanarkshire.

South Lanarkshire, like virtually all Public Sector organisations, were faced with the challenge of saving money whilst maintaining and in many cases enhancing the services they provide to their citizens.

South Lanarkshire chose to award the £3.25m, five year contract to Maintel. Maintel immediately set about migrating their entire fixed line voice estate from BT (2,000 lines) as well as the council’s existing non-geographic numbers to Maintel’s own virtual network. Maintel also introduced a new audio conferencing facility.

All calls are now captured and analysed via Maintel’s ITEM (Intelligent Telecoms Expense Management) online management portal, which delivers clear visibility of the council’s telecoms assets and costs.
