Some customers who access the IP Office telephone system using Manager software may be seeing a message reading “The security certificate will expire in XXX days” when logging into the phone system using Manager.
This may be experienced on IP500v2 or later software versions of IP Office (e.g. 8.0, 9.0, 9.1, 10, 10.1), whether the phone system is standalone, part of a Small Community Network (SCN) or a gateway for IP Office Server Edition. We are expecting this to happen on a number of customer sites.
The cause of this is that the default security certificate included by the manufacturer Avaya expires at the end of 2017.
Maintel engineers are aware of the problem and the actions required to resolve it. Please be advised, however, that this work will require a short maintenance window within your contracted hours. This is because the new security certificate requires a reboot of the phone system.
Maintel engineers will endeavour to implement this change remotely, albeit where remote access is not available, or other circumstances, this may require an engineer to site to resolve. If you are experiencing this issue, It is recommended you raise a ticket.
Please note: where customers do not have access to the phone system and are therefore not seeing the issue, Maintel will contact you if the symptoms are observed and address the phone system issue on your behalf.
