Better together: Maintel and Azzurri set to become one of the largest and most highly skilled resellers in the communications sector

In early May leading systems integrator and managed services provider Maintel announced it had completed the acquisition of Azzurri Communications.

The acquisition positions the combined company as one of the largest and most highly skilled integrators in the communications sector, with revenues for the last financial year of over £140million.

Maintel CEO Eddie Buxton said AIM-listed Maintel is entering a new phase in its history with the deal. He stated, "The overwhelming approval by shareholders has further confirmed to us that this acquisition will prove beneficial for employees, customers and partners of both companies."

Maintel listed as one of UK’s Top 50 Quoted Tech Companies.

Following the acquisition and based on strong performance in 2015, Maintel has been included in Information Age’s list of the UK’s top 50 quoted tech companies, ranking at 29th overall. Published in May 2016, the table has been compiled according to the methodology developed by research firm Megabuyte to score companies’ performance. The result is a ranking that provides an independent measure of quoted companies’ financial performance that goes beyond the simple measure of share price.

Eddie Buxton continued, “This will accelerate Maintel’s shift into hosted cloud and data, ensuring we are well positioned to take advantage of these high growth areas of the unified communications market. It will also build scale in managed services, continuing the shift in our business mix, which we have been driving following previous acquisitions.”

Azzurri CEO Chris Jagusz added: "We are delighted to be joining such a prestigious and successful company. The combined group will be able to offer its customers a broader range of services in hosted cloud and data solutions."

With the addition of Azzurri Communications, the enlarged group will provide a broad suite of solutions and services including a network services division, a mobile division, managed services and, technology and professional services.

The new combined business will have over 700 staff based across eight UK locations.
