Leased lines and Ethernet technology offer dedicated, reliable and secure connectivity where high availability and resilience are required.
Leased lines offer scalable solutions of up to 1,000 mbps (Gigabit) and can be used to link offices together or to connect to the Internet offering a high-speed, always-on connection.
Maintel has up to 9 leased lines and Ethernet carriers for widest possible price and resilience options.
As the cost of bandwidth falls customers are finding that we are able to replace their existing low-speed connections with much higher speed connections without any increase in costs.
High speed connections allow applications to run more efficiently and open the door to converging separate voice and data services on to a single, cost-effective connection.
A simple example of this would be installing a new 10mbps connection to replace an existing low-speed 2mbps Internet connection and an existing ISDN 30 voice circuit where the new high speed connection carries both Internet traffic and incoming and outgoing voice calls via SIP trunks.
EFM mixes new technology with traditional copper in the first mile to offer a lower cost alternative to fibre but is distance dependent.
EFM is important because it is the next step in the transition to fast, reliable and affordable IP connectivity for customers requiring improved performance.
Speeds from 1mbps to 10mbps (now 20Mbs with TTB) can be achieved over multiple copper pairs using EFM technology and additional speed can be turned on as and when required.
Direct Internet Access via a leased line, Ethernet or EFM offers dedicated, high speed Internet connectivity with a robust SLA of 99.9% availability or better.
This can be further supplemented with a second, back-up connection with automated fail over to further increase resilience against the failure of any single component used to provide the service.
Maintel also fully manages routers and proactive monitoring, so if a fault occurs out of hours we will be notified and hopefully have resolved as soon as possible.
