To offer low prices broadband providers need to ensure that their customers do not use their connections so heavily that they make a loss. This is usually done by contending the service so that more customers have to share the available bandwidth or by “shaping” their usage so that high users do not have access to their full potential line speed.

A business class service

Maintel is a business-only broadband provider and therefore we do not suffer from the overuse of very high bandwidth services in the same way that providers who mix residential and business users do and so our broadband does not slow to a crawl at 4pm when the kids come home from school.

Our business-class, voice-ready broadband provides consistent, low-contention connectivity with guaranteed throughput and speeds of up to 40mbps.

We also offer uncontended (1:1) options and allow clients to trade download speeds for upload speeds to better suit applications where upload speed is more important than downloading such as voice.

We do not employ any traffic shaping or de-prioritise any type of Internet usage at any time and our standard packages allow clients a massive 50Gb per month of unrestricted usage under our standard fair usage policy.

Whilst perfect for web browsing and email our broadband really comes in to its own when used as the backbone for our VoIP business services and other applications where the quality of broadband is critical. 

We are also able to engineer our broadband to offer clients a lower-cost service with a lesser monthly allowance which is ideal for companies who require an unrestricted, high speed service but do not have very heavy Internet usage.
