4G mobile networks will improve business VoIP solutions

The anticipated introduction of 4G mobile telecommunications networks will help to enhance mobile voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions, it has been claimed.

IT business development company ChannelVission believes that 4G networks will provide greater functionality compared to 3G networks for applications that are similar to IP telephony solutions.

It is also anticipated that 4G Long Term Evolution networks will grow in the near future, with the number of subscribers exceeding 100 million by 2014, the firm highlighted on news site IT Business Edge.

Vice president of product management at the company Dilip Tinnelvelly referred to 4G networks as high-performance and next-generation.

He also pointed out that if businesses use 4G instead of 3G, it will offer at least five times the download speed.

Telecommunications carriers are also preparing to use 4G networks and mobile carriers are also gearing up for the technology.

Last month, TMCnet's group managing editor Erik Linask pointed out that the ability to deploy VoIP over 4G networks is likely to be a key to the success of telecoms in the future.

The inherent advantages 4G networks have over previous IP networks are they do not face the same bandwidth limitations and they offer mobility and access in areas that present challenges to wired networks, he commented.
